Spending his youth in the prairies of Saskatchewan, Cree-Metis Chef, Heat Laliberte has called Vancouver home since 2002.
After finding a job cooking in the heart of Davie Village at 22, Heat was hooked on the adrenaline rush of dinner service and the camaraderie that kitchen's are notorious for. Since attending Vancouver Community College's Culinary Apprenticeship Program Heat has worked in Vancouver's top kitchen's such as Bluewater Cafe and Fairmont Pacific Rim hotel. In 2016 he was the recipient of the Fairmont Pacific Rim's top prize and was named "Star of the Year". Heat has travelled to Rio de Janeiro, Brazil and Pyeongchang, South Korea to cook for World Class athletes for both Summer & Winter Olympic Games. In 2017 Heat's passion for personal growth led him to participate in the Aboriginal Business & Entrepreneurship Skills Training Program at the Vancouver Friendship Centre. This course helps to nurture the entrepreneurial spirit of people, communities and organizations. During the course, Heat worked diligently to combine his 15 years experience in the culinary world, his love for community, and to create a product to be proud of: hand made, naturally smoked, and local ingredient driven Bacon. Since the Summer of 2017 One Arrow had made it’s way from the Vancouver Farmers Market stall to the shelves of Vancouver’s best artisan butcher shops and local grocery stores. Heat’s commitment to developing genuine relationship’s with vendors and customers has built a solid foundation for One Arrow to keep growing.
